Promotion and Implementation of International Human Rights Law and the UNDRIP
- Hold training workshops on the UNDRIP, International Human Rights Law, UN Treaty Bodies and grievance mechanisms of international and regional financial institutions
- Develop a core of trainers from Asia, Africa and Latin America regions and hold training of trainers’ workshops
- Support and accompany partners interested to submit complaints and submissions to the UN Treaty Bodies and other grievance mechanisms
- Organize an informal network of indigenous and non-indigenous lawyers that shall provide training to lawyers and paralegal workers, and handle legal cases
- Participate in sessions of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Forum on Business and Human Rights, IFAD Indigenous Peoples’ Forum, among others
- Facilitate engagement of indigenous peoples with the UN Special Procedures
- Support and engage in the Global Initiative to Address and Prevent Criminalization and Impunity against Indigenous Peoples
Philippine National Program for Indigenous Peoples’ Empowerment and Sustainable Development
- Monitor and influence laws, policies and proposed bills and participate in climate change and biodiversity multistakeholder bodies to ensure the protection of indigenous peoples’ rights and knowledge
- Undertake awareness-raising and capacitybuilding workshops with indigenous peoples, including indigenous women, children and youth, on indigenous peoples’ rights and IPSSDD
- Support implementation of IPSSDD in select indigenous communities, including setting up and implementing CBMIS, and supporting and strengthening traditional sustainable livelihoods and innovations
- Strengthen the Philippine network of traditional knowledge holders (UPAKAT) and the Philippine UNDRIP Network
- Organize the World’s Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebrations
