Enhancing Capacities for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation
- Undertake research on traditional knowledge systems, customary tenure and governance of ecosystem management, including forest ecosystems
- Continue mapping of national policies and laws on indigenous peoples’ rights, including tenure and resource rights, and its relationship to climate change adaptation and mitigation
- Develop and use indigenous- and gender-sensitive tools and indicators for monitoring, measuring, reporting and verifying how indigenous peoples’ rights are respected and other social and environmental safeguards are addressed in climate change initiatives
- Support partners to develop their climate change adaptation and mitigation plans and programs, including disaster risk preparedness, management and rehabilitation
- Support traditional sustainable forest-related livelihoods and innovations
- Facilitate effective engagement and advocacy of indigenous peoples’ representatives from Tebtebba and its partners in key climate change processes, the Green Climate Fund and climate finance at all levels
- Support and organize learning exchange visits in indigenous peoples’ territories
