Background

This project shall support at least 3 partners from Africa, Asia and Latin America belonging to ELATIA (Indigenous Peoples’ Global Partnership on Climate Change, Forests and Sustainable Development), who are in the process of scaling up their livelihoods. ELATIA is one of the most vibrant indigenous peoples’ networks globally and was established by Tebtebba in 2009. It is focused on implementing sustainable, self-determined development through community strengthening, claiming rights to lands territories and resources, community monitoring, enhancing indigenous women’s role, promoting traditional knowledge and sustainable livelihoods, increasing indigenous communities’ resilience to climate change and enhancing biodiversity, and engaging governments and other stakeholders to respect and fulfill indigenous peoples’ rights and development.

Objective

To continue supporting efforts of Tebtebba and partner indigenous peoples’ organizations to implement indigenous peoples' self-determined development through sustainable livelihood support.
